Every first issue
starts with an idea.
A comic is a sequence of moments. Before you open a creation tool, give your idea a cast, a setting and a reason to turn the page.
Explore OurDream Comic Studio ↗Think in pages. Start small.
Build the cast.
Write a few clear details for each adult character: their appearance, motivation and relationship to the story.
Set one scene.
Choose a location and a moment of change. A focused opening is easier to develop than an entire universe.
Sketch the beats.
Outline the opening, a complication and the next decision. Give each panel one main job.
Review the issue.
Check continuity, speech and sequence. Refine the pages before deciding whether to publish or share.
Keep a small character sheet.
A short reference sheet helps you notice changes between panels. Record the details that should stay consistent and the details that can change with the scene.
Give each panel room to work.
Decide what the reader needs to learn in a panel before writing its dialogue. If a moment needs several actions, split it into separate beats. Read the sequence without dialogue to check whether its movement is clear.
Explore the tool before committing.
